<!channel> Hey folks, we’re about to release an updated and (hopefully) improved docs site, which will also include the WireMock.Net docs for the first time. If you could take a few minutes to have a look and give us some feedback that would be very much appreciated and will help make the docs more useful before we launch. Here’s a temporary version of the new site: https://new-2025.wiremock.org/docs/

• I am less keen on the non-fixed footer since when you currently scroll down the sidebar resizes. • Why does .net get a welcome, and Java doesn't? • Wouldn't it make more sense to have the GitHub link in the .net version link to: https://github.com/wiremock/WireMock.Net ? • Please provide a dark mode
m
The Admin API list of endpoints is a bit too small, the endpoint names get cut over multiple lines (first picture), it is more readable in the old version (2nd picture). But the links actually work now, which is a huge improvement!
t
@Mathieu eugh, not sure what’s happened there. Thanks for pointing this out!
🙇 1
@Simon Verhoeven could you elaborate 1 and 2? I’m probably being dumb, but not sure I totally understand.
s
1. notice the sidebar size
2. WireMock Java vs Welcome to WireMock .NET
t
Ah I see, literally the title text 🙂
m
I noticed that too, I can't reach the
Admin API
link in the left bar unless I scroll the main content to the very bottom

t
Yep, that’s pretty awkward. Will add that to the list.
s
The search seemingly does nothing?
t
It works for me. What happens when you type in it and hit enter?
s
Nothing, and nothing in the console
t
Which browser are you using?
s
Latest chrome
t
Same here and it works fine. Any chance it could be getting ad blocked?
s
No, no ad blocks and nothing in the console.
t
Wonder what the difference could be then… Which OS are you running?
s
W11, up to date.
t
Thanks, will test on that when I can get my hands on a VM.
s
Ah, try toggling between java and .net a few times.
On first load it works, but after toggling it no longer does.
t
Aha, that breaks for me too
Thanks 👍
s
The search result content doesn't behave correctly when clicking a result
b
• It might be just me, but the callout top/bottom paddings seem too tall. • Breadcumbs: Documentation takes to the homepage, while it is docs that takes to the actual documentation. • Text Only as a code block language title seems unnecessary (if this is hideable) • The orange WireMock Cloud callouts look like a warning sign to me, rather than an encouragment for using it as an alternative.
t
All good points, thanks @Balog Tamás! I want to change the callouts, but was going to do that in a separate pass when we’ve had time to do a little bit of design.
s
The icon alignment also feels off .

Language specific WireMock docs have no sidebar (not sure if they should), e.g. https://new-2025.wiremock.org/docs/solutions/python/, and the solutions breadcrumb element takes to a non-existent page.
s
The .net References button is broken. It points to References rather than references.
t
@Simon Verhoeven you mean the link in the LH nav?
s
Main navigation.
And it seemingly applies for a lot of links there.
t
Working fine for me
There was a problem of the kind you described a few hours ago
Would be very weird if you’re getting a cached copy from this morning…
s
t
That’s what was happening this morning for me, but I fixed it.
s
Then there's still something cached on your end since I first loaded the site when you did the ping here.
t
I have to run for now but I’ll try to find a way to flush the CDN cache when I return

Hey folks, thanks again for your feedback the other day. We decided the mkdocs site was just a bit too hacked up and wasn’t working very well so I did a replatform to Starlight and I think it’s much better now (please ignore the borked homepage header, working on it). https://new-2025.wiremock.org/docs/ @Simon Verhoeven you’ll be pleased to note the dark mode toggle in the top right 🙂
s
very nice @Tom
I would remove the highlight effect for the language:
And narrow the: on this page section.

t
Yeah, not sure why that’s so wide at the moment
o
The website doesn't look perfect on mobile but it is not the main consumer. I will try to experiment with the site in the next few days
